My favorite smart phone apps

Post by Weetabix »

Paper weight app - it shows a picture of a rock on the screen, then I put the phone on the papers.

Door wedge app

"Prop up the wobbly restaurant table leg" app

Very small armor (AKA pocket bible) app - I put it in my shirt pocket and it stops .25 & .32 attacks

I don't know how I lived without smart phones.

What are your favorite apps?
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

So you're having trouble integrating the new technology? :lol:

Nah. I use it for everything.

There's the "break the window because I'm locked out of my house" app and the "poke something to see if it's dead or only sleeping" app. Sometimes when the "jeeps" app is running it seems to run the handwarmer app simultaneously, though there must be a problem with that app because it only warms up near the phone's back door.

I like the weather app - hang it outside on a string, and if it's swinging, the weather is windy; if it's wet, it's raining, etc.

And remember that old story about using a barometer to measure the height of a building? It can do all those, too.

I REALLY enjoy the Dead Phone App, for when you forget to plug it in.

The other app I enjoy is the I'm Stupid App. That's the one where your phone doesn't work for some reason. You take it back to the phone store and some 19 year old geek shows you what you did wrong. And it's always something simple.

I cannot, in good conscience, recommend the Dumbbell Landing Pad app.

The fishing weight app - tie phone onto your line to keep the hook&bait down.
Blunt weapon app - hold in hand for use in self-defense
shut-up-hipster-douche app - can be stuffed in a hipster's piehole to put said hipster on mute (best used on their phones)
bookmark app - use phone to keep your place in (most) books

Best part is all these apps are free, use no memory, and won't drain your battery

The handkerchief app is apparently pretty popular around here, but it grosses me out. (Phone and tablet screens are good for blocking sneezes.)

Several come to mind.

The Hide-A-Bed App allows you to make new sleeping arrangements when your wife/significant other discovers that her personalized ringtone is a shrewish woman's voice going "Blah Blah Blah! Blah Blah Blah! Blah Blah Blah!"

Also popular hereabouts are the Beclowning App, when everyone within earshot discovers your ringtone is Justin Bieber etc;
the Geek Detector App is similar when your Star Trek/Star Wars/Firefly/Dr. Who ringtones are revealed;
and the every popular Find-A-Cop App, which allows you to lift the phone to your ear while driving, thus drawing CHP and motorcycle cops to your car better than an industrial electromagnet, and about as fast.
If you order the credit card reader plug-in, you can also use it for convenient one stop shopping at the County Clerk's website under the related "Drain My Bank Account App."

My most recent favorite is the "No, I Won't Properly Resize That Picture Of The Three Of Swords To Be Your Desktop, Enjoy This Extreme Closeup Instead" photo editing app. :roll:

I'm always amused by the ignore every other person on the subway/train/bus/airplane app.
