Must read.... I borrowed this from a friends post..
Recently, when I went to McDonald's I saw on the menu that you could have an order of 6, 9 or 12 Chicken McNuggets.
I asked for a half dozen nuggets.
'We don't have half dozen nuggets,' said the
teenager at the counter.
'You don't?' I replied.
'We only have six, nine, or twelve,' was the reply.
'So I can't order a half dozen nuggets, but I can order six?'
'That's right.'
So I shook my head and ordered six McNuggets
(Unbelievable but sadly true...)
(Must have been the same one I asked for sweetener,
and she said they didn't have any, only Splenda and sugar.)
TWO
I was checking out at the local Wal-Mart with just a few items and the lady behind me put her things on the belt close to mine. I picked up one of those 'dividers' that they keep by the cash register and placed it between our things so they wouldn't get mixed.
After the girl had scanned all of my items, she picked up the
'divider', looking it all over for the bar code so she could scan it.
Not finding the bar code, she said to me, 'Do you know how much this is?'
I said to her 'I've changed my mind; I don't think I'll buy that today.'
She said 'OK,' and I paid her for the things and left.
She had no clue to what had just happened.
( But the lady behind me had a big smirk on her face as I left)
THREE
A woman at work was seen putting a credit card into her floppy drive and pulling it out very quickly.
When I inquired as to what she was doing, she said she was shopping on the Internet and they kept asking for a credit card number, so she was using the ATM 'thingy.'
(Keep shuddering!!)
FOUR
I recently saw a distraught young lady weeping beside her car. 'Do you need some help?' I asked. She replied, 'I knew I should have replaced the battery to this remote door unlocker. Now I can't get into my car. Do you think they (pointing to a distant convenience store) would have a battery to fit this?'
'Hmmm, I don't know. Do you have an alarm, too?' I asked.
'No, just this remote thingy,' she answered,
handing it and the car keys to me. As I
took the key and manually unlocked the door, I
replied, 'Why don't you drive over there and
check about the batteries. It's a long walk....'
PLEASE just lay down before you hurt yourself !!!
FIVE
Several years ago, we had an Intern who was none too swift. One day she was typing and turned to a secretary and said, 'I'm almost out of typing paper. What do I do?' 'Just use paper from the photocopier', the secretary told her. With that, the intern took her last remaining blank piece of paper, put it on the photocopier and proceeded to make five 'blank' copies.
Brunette, by the way!!
SIX
A mother calls 911 very worried asking the dispatcher if she needs to take her kid to the emergency room, the kid had eaten ants. The dispatcher tells her to give the kid some Benadryl and he should be fine, the mother says, 'I just gave him some ant killer......'
Dispatcher: 'Rush him in to emergency right away'
Life is tough. It's even tougher if you're Stupid!!!!
Someone had to remind me, so I'm reminding you too.
Don't laugh....it is all true...

Re: Some Peoples Kids...
Even though many of those are quite old and questionable, I've held off making a new thread about STUPID DRIVERS (and unfortunately the VAST MAJORITY of those doing the most IRRITATING and stupid things as drivers are female - even my wife agrees), especially since I had AT LEAST FOUR instances of almost getting in an accident simply because these people have NO CONCEPT about driving a car!!!
Everything from REFUSING to accelerate on the ON-RAMP to the freeway until they got ON the freeway, to almost shoving me off the road while changing lanes RIGHT INTO MY CAR without even looking!!!
Since I used to ride a motorcycle for MANY years, I'm VERY attuned to the stupid shit people driving cars do ALL THE TIME, so I was able to avoid these idiots and not get into any accidents. But what's even more amazing is the looks you get from THEM, like YOU did something wrong when THEY'RE THE ONE WHO WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE ACCIDENT! You might even get flipped off for your trouble in avoiding the accident!! But THEY were the one on the phone, NOT YOU - and yet they are cussing YOU OUT or giving YOU dirty looks!!
On occasion, you'll get the rare person who acknowledges their mistake and waves, shrugs their shoulders, raises both their hands with palms up like an old Italian saying; "I didn't know" or "I'm sorry"; or mouths "SORRY" or "I'M SORRY". I always respond back to these folks by simply waiving and smiling at them.
I could go on & on, especially since MOST of you know what I'm talking about. But back to the OP, I was recently at the local Taco Bell, and I was watching the cashier/order-taker. When he took EVERY order, he'd ring it up and ask for the money, and after the folks had paid, he'd REPEATEDLY refer back to his screen to see what the amount of change was posted/required to return to the customer. When he had given me MY CHANGE, all he did was give me the receipt ALONG WITH MY MONEY (dollar bills), and my change in his fist and simply said: "Here"
He did this for EVERY customer he came into contact with and had to handle change. I remarked to the guy standing next to me that they don't teach kids to count back change anymore since it appears to be too damned complicated for the majority of them, and the others simply don't care. He agreed.
HOW MANY PEOPLE shove their receipts into their wallets along with their bill change?? WHY do we accept this if we don't like it?? WHY DON'T WE COMPLAIN WHEN WE ENCOUNTER POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE???? If we did, things would change, but apparently we have grown accustomed to it and accepted it as part of; "Just getting along........" We've grown accustomed to mediocrity, and for the most part, we've come to accept it as NORMAL.
WHY??? And if we don't like it, WHY don't we push to change it????

POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON
A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Some true stories from a place I used to work (same woman)
1. On a person's birthday, this company would buy a birthday cake and put it out in the common area for people to gather and visit. We'd had some turnover, so the boss asked this woman to update the birthday list. I heard her at the cubicle next to mine asking, "Terri, I'm updating the birthday list. Is your birthday still June 6?"
2. I had her running the copier for a report that needed 6 copies copied, bound, and submitted. She dropped the originals on the floor and came to me in tears. "How do I get it back in order?!?!?!" Me: "See these numbers at the bottom of EACH PAGE?"
She was the result of nepotism. Every once in a while as you talked to her, you'd see little sparks in her eyes as the synapses shorted.

Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

I've worked with a number of people like that. One woman in particular, we used to say you could make her eyes sparkle by shining a flashlight in her ear. I always wanted to point a red laser-pointer at her ear while she was talking to someone, watch them freak when her eyes turned red.Weetabix wrote:Some true stories from a place I used to work (same woman)

Most such people were still employed for one of these reasons:
1) They knew/were related to someone important
2) Someone important wanted to get into their pants
3) The company didn't want to deal with the lawsuits inherent in firing them
4) The important people were too busy with #1 and #2 to be bothered trimming the stupid people

It is possible that because these people don't have the stress of thinking about their work, they don't get stress related illnesses, have good attendance, they outlast everyone, become senior, get promoted, and end up in management.
