I was at a local Asian food place a few months ago and I was about halfway through handily conquering my plate with the provided chopsticks when the waitress asked if I wanted a fork. I thought I was doing a good job!Yogimus wrote:"Do you have a fork?"

Re: Why I Don't Do Sushi
That reminds me... I once took a ladyfriend out for lunch at a local japanese place. They served yakitori and such, but sushi had just come into style, so they had a sushi bar as well. She ordered the sushi, I had yakitori. She was kinda hoity toity, and went on and on about the time she lived in Japan, how sushi was good for you, made you strong, etc. etc. I just nodded and ate, being polite. She finished her sushi, then picked up the small green lump (about the size of the end joint of a little finger), put it in her mouth, chewed it a time or two, then swallowed it. I smiled and said nothing. She sat there a moment, then her face turned red... she looked just like in cartoons, as if her head was about to explode. She jumped up and ran to the ladies' room. I maintained my composure until she left, then had a good laugh. She returned some minutes later, looking rather the worse for wear. I was sympathetic.
The green lump was wasabi, of course, which she'd just eaten like candy.

Maybe she shouldn't have listened to Jean Reno....Darrell wrote:The green lump was wasabi, of course, which she'd just eaten like candy.

That movie(Wasabi) is on netflix streaming, I'm going to watch it. That scene was hilarious.Mud_Dog wrote:Maybe she shouldn't have listened to Jean Reno....Darrell wrote:The green lump was wasabi, of course, which she'd just eaten like candy.

Good acting requires an imagination; reality requires a person not getting lost in their imagination.

You will not be disappointed. I prefer the original french dubbing with english subtitles, mostly because of one minor scene that doesn't translate well about mid movie.Rod wrote:That movie(Wasabi) is on netflix streaming, I'm going to watch it. That movie is a must see. It's hilarious, at least to me.
