A brief observation on military recruitment ads

You have to wonder what the way they try to attract people to service says about a country's culture.

USA: We're DEFENDING FREEDOM and it's just like your favorite action movie! Do you have what it takes?
UK: We're doing IMPORTANT THINGS and we want your help!
ROK: C'mon man, you're late to the party! It'll be super fun!

And which one has conscription and a hostile neighbor with enemy artillery pointed at its capital? :?

Don't get me posting that Japanese navel recruitment video. I'll do it if you don't let the thread die.

What better purpose for seamanship if not for love?

Is that like making EVERYONE signing up for the ChAir Force believe (according to the recruitment ads and photos) that EVERYONE who enlists in the Air Force is/would be involved with/and could be FLYING with those in the photos? AFAIK, the Air Force is the WORST at portraying the realistic working conditions of the average enlistee, fresh out of high school.

Most of the other branches show realistic depictions of those doing the jobs, but the AF ALWAYS insists on showing flying (insinuating the recruit might be involved in flying) while the number of flying personnel is so low compared to the support personnel to be almost comical.

YOU do, but I doubt EVERY pre-enlisted person would be doing it after completing basic training.

Because this wouldn't get too many recruits.

I loved the ads for Singapore's navy when I last visited. It boiled down to "Are you an adult male who likes to play with toy boats in the bathtub? You're PERFECT for our submarine force!"

The Air Force shows planes. They never say you'll be flying them. :p The Navy has Godsmack, F/A-18s and SEALs doing RHIB barrel rolls, and the Marines have always been completely ridiculous in every ad I can remember, from CGI dragonslaying to rock climbing to an infinite line of armed drill team...
