Yep. Been there done that. The work one was just a bad idea. For the second, I plead innocent as I was told the nuptial bond had been completely dissolved by legal means. I found out otherwise as her husband showed up one morning. Her husband and I had a few beers and decided that she wasn't worth either of our time as we waited for her to show up at my apartment. Thankfully emails showed I had been lied to about her marital status, and were printed out for evidence.

I don't think she got anything out of that divorce except legal bills and crippling migraines.
Remember, folks, you can't spell "douche" without "Che."

I recently learned that one should never mention to one's acquaintances what one daydreams about buyine, when one really doesn't have the money, because invariably said friend knows about a killer deal on said item..

That said, anybody want to lend me 3 grand or so, so I can buy a low mileage 454SS? I promise you'll get your money back before the sun expands into a red giant... probably.

By "loan" you mean, "tell me where it is, and I'll let you play w. it from time to time"

I recently learned that I may be spending too much time looking at webcomics and/or car photos on Google imagesearch*

*On DBD, they just got a Dodge Charger in rough shape. Took me 2 strips to narrow it down to a 69-70, and finally with a shot of the grill today, confirmed it as a 1969 Charger R/T, that almost certainly has the 440 and the not the optional Hemi, because if so, they're crazy to not sell it.

I learned that those armored Ford vans used by the armored car companies are actually pretty damn tough to crack.

This was not recently learned, but was recently reinforced:

Anytime The Boss says "I've been thinking..." it means a serious dent in both my toy fund, and my free time to play with toys.

The latest version is rapidly approaching a grand, and no clear end in sight. *Sigh*

This sounds like the story of a blowout. We narrowly avoided one at work this week, through the very rapid application of a whole mess of kickers.
