And thankfully, those cheap manmade ones are now virtually indistinguishable from natural(read: $$$$$) ones.

Well, they can always bury you in it, I suppose... so not a total waste :-)

Heh. Mine got a new furnace this year. She may also get an OLD 500-gal propane tank - it will save us $0.50 on every gallon if we own the tank.

BTW - Verizon's giving "buy-one-get-one" on the "Env2" cell phones right now. Got my girls brand-new QWERTY cell phones yesterday - all they're getting for Christmas - for a grand total of $79 after $50 (mail-in) rebate.

OTOH, was it a full-moon yesterday or WHAT? My house was full to the rafters with insanity - it was like the frigging TWILIGHT ZONE. Every one of them (2 cats, 1 dog, 2 daughters, 1 wife - all female) was literally INSANE. WTF??!!

I was stupid enough to bring up the fact that I need to buy an exercise bike to work on this @%^$-ing leg. You'd have thought she caught me in bed with Olga and Helga :o

SHE laid the law down when the furnace went up that we're not to get each-other any sort of present this year - I went along (against my better judgment) because of the finances - but when I brought up this exercise bike...

I can't walk. Doctors now say muscles are the problem, I need to build up muscles to stop the clunk, which causes the pain, which keeps me stuck in a chair eating pain pills like tic-tacs and wearing ice packs. The one thing I can do that doesn't hurt is pedal the exercise bike, and I figured if I had one at home I could work up to many miles a day and expedite my recovery. I can't remember the last time she flipped out like this - It's not like I bought a another new GUN fer chrissakes...

Looking at the calendar, there may be some explanation for her volatility  , but can someone help me understand why 2 other humans and 3 animals were all equally insane? Some days I think I'm going to drown in this estrogen-ocean... :?

DD, don't waste your money on a new one - check craigslist. You should be able to get one for anywhere from $50 to "get this damn thing out of my house".

Also, you might want to have a talk with the wife. This isn't a "present" this is Therapy. Keep in mind, this time of year is often stressful, especially since money is tight..

Unfortunately there's not much craigs-list action here in BFE... ;) I've been watching the papers for months, spread the word to everyone I know, but nothing I can use turned up so far.

The real problem is that I need a "recumbent" style - I just can't sit on the usual "bike seat" type - don't have any padding left in my posterior and it's just frigging torture, not to mention that having my weight OVER the pedals when I've got so much muscle deficiency seems like a really bad idea. With the "Recumbent" style I can use the straps on the pedals and really work on my flexion range of motion too... Once I get it warmed up I can slide the seat forward and stretch the "bending" a good bit in addition to working the muscles.

Sears is having a big sale right now, but I figure a week from today they'll be damn near giving the things away.

I rarely buy anything new but in this case might have no choice... The little "mini"-sears up the road had a pretty nice floor-model "nordic track" example for ~$200, I figure if it's still there next week I'll beg and offer 1/2 price to get it out of there...

DD

PS: I'd talk to wifey, but as I said they were ALL crazy yesterday - even the 4-legged ones.

Maybe she was mixing chemicals again??!!

NOOOOOooowww I get it....

3 females live together - you know what happens??

Now - today - we have the REAL crisis - not enough "products" to go around, and it's raining.

Some days I'm glad to be crippled - can't be forced to make THAT run to the store...

Still don't get why the animals were all crazy too - they're spayed fer chrissakes...
