That's impressive, but it's not really bush flying if they are using actual constructed runways. This is bush flying:

The pilot who shall be known only as Boog.

A friend of mine up there flew a plane like that with tires like that. I'll call him Bert. 'Cause that was his name. A downdraft got him while he was scouting sheep. They called us to ask if we knew who his dentist was. I miss Bert, but he knew the risks, and he lived and died doing what he loved.

"Constructed runways"?

Was he one of Maggie O'Connell's boyfriends in Northern Exposure?
Sorry. Living and dying doing what one loves is probably the greatest gift one can have.

I agree.

My wife and I had him and his girlfriend over to dinner once. I bet him he couldn't get an entire piece of pie in his mouth at once. He won. We got to discussing a mummified critter I'd found in the yard at breakup, and he asked to see it. My wife still ribs me about bringing dead animals to the dinner table. Turned out it was a white marten.

His girlfriend had worked for the same firm before I did. She came back from a Caribbean vacation with demonstrably few tan lines and told her former confreres that her bikini fit in a film can. I'd never seen them all so speechless as they tried to imagine.

Quite a couple, they were.
