If you're going drinking, watch out for the amateurs.

The story is the only difference between St. Paddy's Day and Cinco de Mayo is that no one pretends they're Mexican. I had the obligatory shot of Bushmill's last night. The 7 hours at the museum during the city wide kid's festival was THAT rough.

All the Irish theme bars in the expat areas on the Spanish coast will be heaving. With people who aren't Irish of course :D

I'm going to be spending the afternoon listening to Danny O'Flaherty & Noel Nash at the Deutsches Haus here in New Orleans with some friends. So, I'll be in a German cultural center, in a town founded by the French, likely with a friend of Sicilian ancestry, listening to Irish folk musicians, who may be joined for a few songs by an African-American singer. America, fuck yeah!

The Facebook meme going around:
The only difference between St. Patrick's Day and Cinco de Mayo is that the drunks don't go around claiming they're Mexican.

I'm tempted now to make up a bunch of "Besame soy Mexicano" shirts & see how many get sold to white college kids.
