Attack of the cuteness...

Post by JAG2955 »

We were scouting a location for a field exercise, spooked a doe, and what did we see:

We're hoping that mom comes back tonight and moves them.

I hope the mom comes back and grows its offspring into damned strong, large, and virile offspring!! Good on you for not disturbing them and spreading your scent around (as little as you could).

After all, we hope they'll grow up and make new offspring and then become good targets themselves!! :D :D

They are right now. That would have been some of the most tender, delicious tasting venison you could ever eat.

They are taught to remain perfectly still when in danger. Unfortunately they learn the lesson so well that a friend and neighbor ran over one while brush-hogging his pasture.
Messy.

That's normal, she'll come back. Not only are they taught to remain still, young deer have little to no smell, making them a hard target for predators. Cute, but he would have been delicious. And I can neither confirm nor deny the ability to hunt even adult deer with a .22 lr....
