Unfettered by the soul-constricting bonds of your conventional rationality and a petty reliance on outcome as a measure of success (symbolized here by clothing), Mr. Obama mounts the pure essence of HopeAndChange on his progressive journey to... who knows where. And really, who cares where. The destination is not the journey. Your focus on destination merely reflects your bourgeois effort to oppress those who have transcended work ethic, who have moved beyond responsibility, who have passed beyond cause and effect.

Mr. Obama's glorious driving impetus is that everyone deserves what he wants without having to go through what he doesn't want. The pancakes symbolize the yearning for the sweet, albeit unsatisfying, fullness that comes from overindulgence of our most rudimentary desires. That indulging those desires leaves us unfulfilled allows us to continue in the never-ending quest for happiness with no effort, and satisfaction with no pain. Mr. Obama knows that we can achieve spiritual satiation for free.
