inexpensive sandblaster

I am in need of some sandblasting equipment. Nothing expensive or that will need to withstand a serious amount of use or abuse.

I periodically have some jobs that this tool would help with and more immediately I need to strip and gunkote a .22 and perhaps a Glock slide.

I saw this.

I know its horror freight, but for something that will likely be used for a few hours per quarter - would this be adequate?

Other suggestions below say $50-75 are welcome.
Suggestions on what I should be looking for.

I will have to look at my specs, but I believe it is a 8-10 CFM at 90 psi with a 50-60 gallon tank.

I will look at the campbell hausfield on amazon. Thanks

I used to have the Campell Hausfeld unit. You'll want a good water separator in line -- and a place to make a mess. :)

This is what I use for a small job that is too big to fit in my blast cabinet:

The speedblaster is my preferred gravity feed gun as well.
It's reasonably priced, reliable, and you can get carbide tips, shaped tips, and spot tips for it.
+2 on the speedblaster.
We had a few laying around my cousins welding shop to prep things we couldn't fit into the cabinet(decorative iron railing). We also had the CH model mentioned for jobs that required a little more capacity(prepping ladder racks and such for paint).

oops looks like wishful remembrance. 1.8 hp with a 28 gal tank.

looks like 4.9 SCFM at 90 psi. I assume that means I am sol on running a sand blaster??

Those little gravity feed blasters are great. Perfect for spot blasting before welding on large items.

I'm not a big fan of suction blasters, as they never seem to work well for me - the ones in the blast cabinets do okay, but I think that's due to the short hose length.

Personally, I like the pressure blasters better - they're on sale at Horror Freight right now. The HF ones aren't too bad, probably because there's not much to screw up. Frankly, at that price, it doesn't pay to build a pressure blaster..

HF is a good source for media, as they'll tend to have it in their stores, so you won't have to pay shipping on it, nor do you have to set up an acct. with a local media supplier to buy a single bag of black beauty

Well, the 20lb is 60 bucks, that's within his "below 50-75" requirement, although near the top.

I just never liked the suction blasters, they never seemed to work well for me, outside of the ones in the cabinets, and that I suspect has to do with the short lengths of hose.

Thanks guys.

Chris,
How are you finding the requirements on these machines, or do you just KNOW the requirements by type?

Looks like a trip to horror freight is in order and perhaps an amazon order. The little guys will work until my compressor breaks and I upgrade.
