Interesting bit on how the brain works

LINKY Amongst other things, it gives an excellent description of the "Centipede's Dilemma".

"When liberal democracies collapse, someone comes along who promises to make the trains run on time if we load the right people into them." - Tam K.

A centipede was happy quite,
Until a frog in fun
Said, “Pray tell which leg comes after which?”
This raised her mind to such a pitch,
She lay distracted in the ditch
Not knowing how to run.
Apropos of nothing, that reminds me of a nature program I saw--a tent spider spins a web resembling a tent, with radial lines running outward around it, just like tent lines. The tent spider sits under the tent, and whenever he feels a vibration in a tent line, he runs in that direction and pounces on whatever is passing by. Well, in the video, here's Mr. Tent Spider, doing his thing, waiting for the next meal to come along. What came along was a centipede or millipede, doing its many footed thing. LOL That bug was tripping so many tent lines at once that Mr. Tent Spider stopped at the edge of his tent, with a WTF look on his face, as if a company of soldiers was filing past!
