"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." That's about it, really.

Re: Rules to Live By
-Never Lie, especially to yourself.
-What does not kill you, will make you stranger. (No, that's not a misspelling.)
-Mercy and hope have a cruelness all their own. Know when and how to destroy your bridges.
-Patience is wasted if you cannot move with alacrity when the moment is right.
-Logistics logistics logistics. The only valid reason you ever have for not being able to do something.
-You haven't truly lost until you've quit.
-If you are not acting you should be planning.
-If you are not planning, you should be acting.
-If you are neither planning nor acting, you are usually wrong.
-Attack every issue with a combat mindset.
-Intelligence is useless without accomplishment.
-Find the pockets of competence, and exploit the heck out of them.
-Intelligence is a burden all its own.
-If you are not on the verge of information overload, you are not paying enough attention.
-Scratch other peoples' backs, if you want yours scratched.
-Expect the unexpected. Expect the unintended. Do not expect the intended and the expected, they're usually the first things to go tits up.
-Every day I wake up, I wake up with a loaded weapon next to my bed. I must find a reason not to die. In doing so, I always find a reason to live. In having a reason to live, I always find myself one step ahead of everyone else I know.
-Power does not corrupt. The sense of Powerlessness corrupts. When someone feels powerless, they have the tendency to do stupid things to prove otherwise.
-Every time your head hits the pillow, it is the end of the world as you know it.

Actually, I think that was me quoting an Army ROTC instructor I once had. I'm not smarter than you, but I wouldn't take bets on Major Wibert...Cybrludite wrote:On that subject, someone smarter than me (probably Chris...) wrote, "You only get to do it once, so pick what hill you're willing to die on very carefully."Dub_James wrote:If a line's worth drawing in the sand,

...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".
