There's reportedly a Finnish saying to the effect of "There's no such thing as bad weather, only poor clothing."
I'm not old--It's too early to be this late.

At this point, if I put on enough clothes to be warm, if I fall down it will take a Klein truck to get me back upright.

At least you'll have enough padding that the fall won't hurt you!

At that point, I won't realize I've fallen until the horizon shifts to vertical!

I'd heard that was a Siberian saying.

It was unseasonably warm in So Cal yesterday (around 80) We were dying 'cause the two weeks before were COLD (cooler again today).
Please, when you order warm weather, be sure to write clearly on the address label. ;) ;)

Yes, our blood is thin out here. Tap water would be thicker.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

Had to fill buckets from the hot water tap in the bathtub, to fill the horse's water tank. (Didn't think to fill the tank yesterday, when the weather was decent.)

Project for this summer: Run a water line to the horse's tank, and install a frostproof faucet on it. (Although, I think that was a project two winters ago, too.)

We had 0degF this morning. My house isn't up (down?) to those temperatures. 60 deg downstairs. Why is it I only remember the air sealing projects when it's too cold to do them?
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

18 balmy F degrees here this morning. It has warmed up to 31F here this afternoon, but they're predicting freezing rain and sleet for tomorrow morning. Oh, joy. I hope they're wrong.

Lucky today in Dallas, about 21 degrees, no wind, no humidity......Semi Tropical my behind! If we get precip tomorrow watch it ice the overpasses, Road crews scrambling to spread sand, guy in 4x4's thinking they don't have to slow down, and cars stuck in ditches. Hopefully we've got enough of the trees trimmed so we don't have limbs dropping on power lines and freezing the folks that depend on electrical heat. It seems even the Yankees for get how to drive on slippery roads after they've been here a while.

Low 30s last night and they had delayed openings for most school districts and Fort Bliss because of the chance of freezing rain. Didn't happen but there's more expected tonight and they probably won't close things and we'll get smacked good. I'm taking my long johns to Shakespeare Ghost Town this weekend just in case.
