I knew a few Aluminum U. grads. Most weren't worth the expense of fragging them, but there were a couple of good ones.

During the Great Tree-Cutting Incident on the DMZ (August, 1976) we were on alert, and working missions around the clock. One morning, during the pre-mission brief, the 1LT that served as our flight commander (a proud Aluminum U. grad) told us, in no uncertain terms, that we were not be be on duty more than 16 hours out of 24. Period. End of Message.

Our senior analyst asked if that included everybody. L.T. said that it did.

Analyst says "Bullshit, sir, cause I know for a fact that you ain't been off this fuckin' hill for three days!"

At that point, had he asked nicely, we've have tackled Hell with a half-bucket of water!
But there ain't many troubles that a man caint fix, with seven hundred dollars and a thirty ought six."
