This is interesting - VW is going to resurrect the IH Scout.

VW got the rights when they bought Navistar, IHs parent company, last year.

If course, they're not going to bring it back for why it's loved - a tough, affordable no frills SUV.

No, it's gonna be an Electric luxury SUV, ala' the new Ford Bronco.

And knowing VW, it's gonna be an over engineered, unreliable piece of crap that costs a fortune.

Sigh. I'd really like to get a scout, ideally with a bad drivetrain, and repower with a Cummins 2.8/NV4500/Atlas setup. About the only thing I would really add is A/C.

We will see. New CEO coming in for VW as they got rid of the guy obsessed with EVs. I could see them changing that up, either to drop the idea or offer different powerplant options.

IHC made a Nissan I6 diesel powered scout in 79 and 80.

But that makes sense, you know that’s not allowed.

I think that's why they oppose the flat tax...
