Personally, I think the underclassmen should be getting together to kick the male student's @$$.

Uh huh. And given that the membership here is mostly male, and most of us recall how WE were in high school (IOW so horny the crack of dawn wasn't safe). Our brain wants to believe that male/female students/teachers ought to be treated the same. Deep inside we're saying "Why couldn't I have gone to that school!"HTRN wrote:Rationally, it should be the same for all. So long as the minor is male.
And the authority figures are attractive females.
As if, were the genders reversed, you wouldn't be calling for the male teacher in question to be slowly castrated etc... etc...

Re: Where were they?
If it was my son two things would be happening:
1. I'd call for heads to roll and would call in every favor and pound on every politician's door until they did so.
2. We'd be having a nice long talk with the boy about how those are big freaking red flags of crazy and how that kind of crazy will ruin your life before you even have a life.
And it's not the naked ape, it's our cultural assumptions concerning the "purity" of girls and how girls need to be protected but boys need to sow their wild oats.
If it's considered rape for a girl it sure as hell should be considered rape for a boy.

Oh and just because it's a fantasy for a lot of boys and young men doesn't mean it's somehow okay or something that you want.
Ask the kid who got his teacher pregnant if the fantasy still continues once the court rules that since he's 18 it's now time to pay child support. That's actually happened in a few cases. I'm reasonably certain even as a teenager you didn't want to be him.
Lots of girls have rape fantasies, it doesn't become okay or tolerable to rape them just because it's a widespread fantasy. Boys having sex with their teachers similarly does not become okay just because it's a widespread fantasy.

The two women were certainly seriously crazy and stupid to do this.MelodyByrne wrote:2. We'd be having a nice long talk with the boy about how those are big freaking red flags of crazy and how that kind of crazy will ruin your life before you even have a life.
The 30 yr old one is married, with children. I wonder how that's working out for her?

Yeah, this. I knew a guy who knocked up an older woman under conditions that could have been prosecuted as statutory rape, and he wound up paying child support to his rapist until the child turned 18.MelodyByrne wrote:Ask the kid who got his teacher pregnant if the fantasy still continues once the court rules that since he's 18 it's now time to pay child support. Re: Where were they?
Why is statutory rape not considered something that renders the person unfit for custody? Such a consideration should be sex-neutral (Gender neutral as the usage goes today). Statutory rape would eliminate custody considerations if the father were guilty, so why does the crazy mother get a pass? Maybe there ought to be some Amici briefs in these cases arguing for a ruling where Child Support is payable only if the rapist mother surrenders custody completely and permanently.Netpackrat wrote:Yeah, this. The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .
