I remember seeing bio luminescent "chunks" stirred up by our screws quite vividly. I suspect they were usually a variety of squid, but they appeared so un-naturally bright. They did look like freshly cracked chemlights swirling about in the water. If I had to guess dimensions, I'd say 8" long by 2" wide. Then again, I saw a lot of CRT t.v.'s at sea too...
