Re: Alt-history writing project
I'd have him send down a Company of Marines with a least a Marine Colonel from Quantico along with Leahy, just to ensure that the Norfolk Marines understand where the Chain of Command actually runs.
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

TFBNCC and Randy, thank you for your suggestions.
Would it be better to get the Marines from the Barracks at Eighth & I?

Re: Alt-history writing project
Possibly.
I was trying to remember if the Secret Service guarded the White House at this period in time or if it was marine guards. I'll have to look it up. Leahy could take marines from any naval or marine corps facility anywhere between Washington and Norfolk. It all depends on how you want the story line to jell.

I’m still working on this, just some delays due to work. It’s over 36,000 words and looks like it will end up somewhere over 40,000 words.
