free strategic online / computer games

Post by Precision »

I am bored in my current location and have lots of time with little to do. I would enjoy a free online computer game that is strategy based and military. Something like Civilization or whatever.

Suggestions greatly appreciated and a required facebook link is a deal killer.

If you're feeling trusting....

Remember the 80's war/strategy game Lords of Conquest? Someone rewrote it in Java, out of nostalgia. You can find the page for it online here:

Also, there's a phone/tablet version of Ticket to Ride. You can play solo. It's fun.

Otherwise I don't have much to recommend, as I don't actually play all that many computer games these days.

Though I strongly suggest:Help BDK expand his ice cream empire - it's certainly my favorite game, it even has gambling!

There was one called Pirates on the NES that my brother played for many hours

I am happy to help with the game Ice Cream Empire. I am not so sure I know how to play. Email me and I will do whatever I can from here to help. I like a challenged mind and it certainly isn't being challenged here. Not to mention I have a lot of stuff I need to be doing but can't because I'm here. Which makes me a little antsy. Ice Cream Empire would be a great thing.

Free strategy? You're going to run into a lot of freemium crap that claims to be strategy, but it's really just "spend real money on upgrading to the best units, stomp enemy bases, get stomped, rinse, lather, repeat"

If you like naval gaming, there's Global Conflict: Blue and Fighting Flattops. I've played both (the former is modern and the latter is WWII), and they're enjoyable.

Check it out. In-browser DOS emulator lets you play old games online, all you need is a web browser.
