He could almost be one of us…almost. Then, he takes a sharp, LEFT turn into douchebaggery. Ah well, he may not have got it in the hole, but at least he hit it on the green…

CRACKED!

He lost my interest in too many words (cause I'm actually just taking a 2 minute break from something else), but the main points seemed good. Delete the last paragraph, and it might not be too bad.

He burned out three irony filters before finishing his first point.

The utter self-unawareness of decrying willful ignorance and disinformation in a screed in support of global warming is like listening to a Justin Bieber PSA on acting responsible, and letting Miley Cyrus lecture your daughter on modesty at the Octomom Mother Of The Year Awards.

Then he went into misplaced aggression regarding religious people and creationism, after pointing out that opinions aren't necessary valid, making his point by offering his own invalid opinion that's worth duck squirt, because he feels entitled to squirt it out because someone once told him that he has a right to be listened to.
but I can hypothesize that, on some level, a world that continues to breed entitlement backed by ignorance and misinformed opinions that have no validity whatsoever, where everyone thinks they're the most important person ever, is just a ripe, stanky Petri dish in which to create frustration, disappointment, and a desperate sense of loss and desolation when reality comes home and has a seat, destroying all the false beliefs we've fostered. So we make ourselves crazy by building ourselves up with lies, then knocking ourselves down with truth, and that makes a hell of a lot of people unhappy, this terrible cycle of expectation and disappointment.
So either he's so ironically dry he's a genius, or (far more likely) he's the most ignorant f*** on the planet who doesn't realize that he, himself is what's making the world worse, and he'd rather piss and moan about it in everyone else than do something manly about it, like either stop being the exact dick, in spades, which he declaims, or else admit defeat, and suck-start a 12 gauge.

It's important that we absolutely ignore what he said in favor of knee-jerk responses, because he was really mean.

No, by all means, take it as gospel, just ignore the fact that a liar just told you he's lying.
His essay told us far more about the author than about anything approaching universal truths.

Lying about what, exactly? "Opinions aren't equal just because everyone has them"?

Sorry, you evidently missed his unstated but fervently-held "except for mine" statement in there.
As I noted earlier, he burned out all the irony filters, and I couldn't hear him over the sound of his own awesomeness.
If he believed anything he wrote, he'd have deleted it, and set out to become less the exact person he was describing.
It's hard to mount the moral high ground when your golf shoes are standing on your own johnson.

It's the Guncounter.
Sometimes that approach helps, other times, not so much.
