I don't know if you've read Marcus Luttrel's book "Lone Survivor", nor have you seen the previews currently airing on TV (and possibly in the movie previews) about the movie. And yes, I know about the casting of Marky Mark, but I'm much more concerned about how well the movie parallels the book (even if other facts have become released and declassified about their mission and how it figures in the movie) - so I'm really interested in what YOU perceive when reviewing the movie in relation to the book of the same name (minus all the BUD/S, SEAL training, etc., etc.).
In my local area, all the advertisements (on TV) say the movie is being released to limited markets and for a limited time only (living in San Diego, I can imagine this is one of their target markets).
SO, *IF* you get the opportunity to see this movie - I'd REALLY like your perspective, ESPECIALLY if you've also read the book.

Read the book, haven't seen the movie. I'll see if any of the target markets are nearby.
My best recollection of the book is that the work of Mr. Luttrell would not suffer by reading the Reader's Digest Condensed version. He could've lopped 100 pages out of it and still been just fine.
My expectation is that Hollywood use this shortcoming as a springboard to focus on the humanity of his Islamic hosts/saviors in the aftermath, while emphasizing how evil Bushitler and Cheneyemperorpalpatine were for waging cruel war via Navy Seals on the peace-loving acolytes of the religion of peace in the first place. The nearest parallel would be re-making Sands Of Iwo Jima from the perspective of the Jap sniper who backshoots Sgt. Stryker, and cutting away to his poor mistreated family back in Japan fleeing from the Yankee firebombings.
Putting Marky Mark into anything involving firearms is a hoot, since my understanding is that him having a functional weapon in his hands makes him a felon in possession. Clearly, some animals are equaller than others, like Chris Matthews bringing high-cap magazines into DC for TV.
(He has a past that is charitably described as colorful, having three brothers and a sister who've also done hard time, not counting his brother Donnie, best known as 1stSgt Carwood Lipton in Band Of Brothers, as well as being another one of the NKOTB.)
I'll keep an eye out, but knowing what Hollywood does to legitimate stories, I haven't paid much attention to this one.
