Not yet, they're trying to figure out how to use his death as a slam against conservatives.

I was a big fan of Jonathan Winters back in the day. The two hardest laughs I ever had were at him (don't remember what show), and at Robin Williams in an HBO performance many years ago. If you want to see a strange synergy, look on youtube or someplace and see what happened when Winters and Williams got together.
Wasn't he diagnosed with some mental illness? I always thought that was a prerequisite of really good comedians... and yeah, I think Robin Williams is insane, too.

If I remember this correctly, George Carlin, in his Playboy Interview said that he admired Jonathan Winters, and he wanted to tap into the same sort of free-associational humor that Winters did, but he was cautious about doing it too much because "he [Winters] has spent some time in the hoo-hoo house."

Winters fought severe depression for most of his life. Back in the day they didn't have a lot of effective treatments for it.
He voluntarily went in for electro-shock at one time.
He quit high school in his senior year 1943, and served for 2 1/2 years in the US Marine Corp in the Pacific Theater during WW II.
