Long post but worth it over at Monster Hunter Nation. Particularly if you're a long time Science Fiction Fan that has found that it seems like only the stuff from Baen is readable the past 10 or so years.

Here's a hint: Larry Corriea, Michael Z Williamson and Tom Kratman all roll in on this one.

I almost feel sorry for the poor sods on the left. Almost.

? There are Commie Sci-Fi writers? I thought that basic premise pretty much precluded such soft-headedness...

Plus you may have noticed that the scifi half of the scifi/fantasy genre has been pretty subsumed recently by the fantasy half; I would point to liberalisation as part of the reason for that. Partly because the liberal worldview exists easier in fantasy worlds and partly because overly political scifi doesn't sell very well.

Randy, after reading the linked post I:

a) want the last ten minutes of my life back and
b) am confirmed in my view that FB is pointless - it's like the flame wars of usenet all over again, in glorious technicolor.

OK - I never read much fantasy... Or all that much Sci-Fi, I suppose...

Well, I personally thought that Kratman's rules for racists was worth the price of admission.

Not having an account on the Devil's Database, I couldn't say if this was typical or not.
