OH, I'M SO TERRIFIED after receiving the following (EXTORTION) email, from a JAPANESE email address. Please note the IMPERSONAL greeting for such a direct communication from the US Attorney General (even if he IS an asshole). But WHY would the US ATG send ME a DIRECT email informing me of an investigation and possible prosecution rather than serve a search warrant with his storm trooper instead??? Oh, you can sit here and pick out all the poor grammar and writing (OBVIOUSLY English is NOT their first language).

Since I plan on NOT complying with sending them their demanded $170.00, you might not be hearing from me for a while since I will no doubt be sitting in one of their jail cells awaiting prosecution for these HORRIBLE CRIMES      (emphasis mine - all other typos and poor grammar is theirs) - ENJOY:

I'm TERRIFIED!!! WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!???? And WHY am I being singled out?!?!?!?!? I don't have ANY dealings with ANYONE in Nigeria, but I'm so SCARED by receiving that email from Eric Holder directly, it might be much cheaper and easier for me to avoid prosecution and simply pay their bullshit tax. What do YOU think??????    ;) ;)

I'd sure like to have the time, money and resources to go meet some of these morons and get them thrown into jail, even if it's NOT in the USA. Just getting these Inbox crap fillers in jail would be a nice start. I just happened to find this particular email funny and decided to share it.

Yes, it was in my HELD email, which I go through on a regular basis to free those messages I want to reach me, but this was too funny to just delete. I mean, even the office of the US Attorney General does NOT make the SUBJECT of their emails: OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

Hmmm, perhaps Eric needs your $170.00 to bolster his legal defense fund. Ya know how expensive those darned lawyers can be.

It's been ages since I did any email sleuthing, but wouldn't 118.244.5.226 be the IP that the scammer used when logging into the Yahoo account the mail came from ?

It's an open proxy server in Beijing by the way :D

Now here's the tough question, are you going to do the mature thing, and delete it and forget about it. Or are you going to do things "the Chicago way"?

Because I have some suggestions for shenanigans.

Considering the putative source, I agree.
