I wonder how much Hyundai paid for that first commercial (with the Rocky theme song) right before the game started? I'm sure they got by a little cheaper by getting the commercial slot before kickoff.

Apparently, Hyundai no doubt got a bulk rate 'cause we've now seen two commercials for them. The second one with the Cheetah and the guy who released it to apparently race the car, but instead wound up chasing the handler was pretty poorly done. The guy would have been MUCH safer getting into the cage himself instead of trying to run away from the big cat.

I think I just saw my new favorite Superbowl commercial, it's the Honda CRV commercial with Matthew Broderick doing a take-off of Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

OH, and the best Bud Light commercial BY FAR (so far, but they seem to be getting better towards the end of the game) is the one with the dog named "We Go" - who when called, goes to the fridge and retrieves a Bud Light beer, and even judges the amount of beer he needs to get including dragging out a 6-pack, and rolling out a keg when a large crowd shows up. We're fairly partial to smart/cute pets commercials.

Around some where are a couple sites with the top 25 or so best SB commercials boy do advertisers spend some serious money on this.

I thought Mike Bloomberg and the mayor of Boston were going to be in a commercial calling for tougher Federal gun control. At least that's what the NYC papers said. If they were on I missed it. Too bad, I'd like a new TV.

The Bloomberg/Menino ad was DC-region only. They were specifically talking to the politicians, based on pagunblog (Sebastian's place.

I think that was a local or regional only commercial. Wouldn't play well in a lot of southern or western states.

Huh. I always thought the way to get politicians to do something was to tell the [strike]suckers[/strike] [strike]voters[/strike] constituents to contact their congresscritters and tell them to do what you want done.

I think I'll open another thread on the idiocy of Bloomberg and his ilk.

The monkeys always hit my funny bone hard. There was a Geico commercial after the game with pig downhilling on a skateboard that had me and daughter #3 laughing almost to tears. "Whheeeeeee"
