LibertyCon is a great little sci-fi convention in Chattanooga, Tn. The guest list for this one includes Brandon Sanderson (Amongst other things, he's the one finishing The Wheel Of Time), Timothy Zahn (Heir To Empire), Vincent DiFate (artist), Eric Flint (1632), and a couple of writers you might have heard of, Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle. Not listed on their page, but usually in attendance are folks like John Ringo, "Doc" Taylor, and Mike Z. Williamson. This year the con has switched hotels over to the Chattanooga Choo-Choo, solving their usual problem of the hotel selling out the Sunday morning of the previous year's con.

Hadn't thought about it, not sure when my next vacation is yet.

Congratulations and the best of wishes to both of you.

I can't make that one, but I will be at Emerald City Comic Con this year (ETA- Which I just found out Adam Baldwin, Katee Sackhoff, Tia Carrere, and Summer Glau will also be at  )

If you had a Klingon wedding you could do both. :ugeek:

This is one con I really like to go to. Haven't been able to make it the past couple of years, though.

When I got back from Iraq, working for Blackwater, MMike wrote a book about me, "Better to Beg Forgiveness". He kept asking what screwed up things I had to deal with. When he kept asking for more, that is when I found out what he is writing.

Hmmmm...

on second thought, I got her to get interested in guns, carrying a gun and a knife, becoming a prepper with food, water and ammo. I have gotten her to watch Serenity without much too much complaint. I might be pushing it to try and convince her of the benefits of sci-fi geekdom and a Klingon Wedding.

Now Klingon mating rituals...that might be worth pursuing. :D

Nifty! I wonder if we've met without realizing it.
