BIORHYTHMS!

One of my summer reading projects included Sugar Ray Leonard's book. He claimed to be a strong believer of, and adherent to, the theory of Biorhythms. Click on the link for a quick overview.

Now that you've read that, let's have some opinions. At first glance, I'm tempted to dismiss it as a kook discipline like Numerology, Tarot Readings, Astrology, etc. On the other hand, I've experienced those moments...as an athlete, musician, giving spoken presentations, when I am undeniably "in the zone." Sugar Ray would say it's due to biorhythms. I'm willing to hear arguments for and against, though I'm still not convinced.
What are your opinions on this? Fire Away!

Well, a woman's chemistry does cycle - it was a significant change in research when that started to be addressed. (At one time, only men were used in research studies out of fear of harming women who might be pregnant, etc.)
I would think seasonal cycles would be expected - almost all, if not all, other animals experience them. Birth rates certainly are seasonal in humans.
Solar-Lunar charts do affect the behavior of animals, so I suspect, there might be a similar influence on some people. Moonlight affects the hunting ability of predators, so I would expect that there might be an influence - HOWEVER, in modern life, for people who aren't agrarian, I could see it being more related to bill due dates/tax payment dates/etc.

I have a creative cycle that goes up and down. When I'm down I can't write anything to save my life. When I'm up the fingers fly across the keyboard.

Good points.
There are definitely real cycles in people's behavior. Women's hormonal fluctuations, bipolar behavior....
Though I suspect what we call 'biorhythms' is mostly numerological hogwash that sort-of, kind-of
accidentally touches on some underlying truths. Kind of like the personality divisions/classifications described by horoscopes.
