You may not agree, but the last line of the strip had me laughing out loud at my desk. Maybe it says something about me, dunno.

Read it for yourself.

The previous day's is also a near-classic. It ends with the following:
Well, the good news is that I can now start killing and not feel in the least bit guilty.

The bad news is I'm not going to feel the least bit guilty about the killing I'm about to do.
Oh, it's gets so much better.
Shep has been kidnapped.
Pau has tried to pull a fast one on the Amorph Murder Machine.
Katherine is trapped by bad guys and oh, the likely only weapon on that entire habitat is that can keep the good Sgt from eating her(Schlocks own Plasma cannon, ironically) is behind a wall of thugs.
The Doc, Legs, Para, Taylor and the New guy Tino are headed their way, and oh, they're all wearing(minus the robot) Carbonfullerene power armor.

And oh, the Sgt is nearby, and knows she's there.

You can almost hear the clusterf*ck coming..

Nah. With those words (the ones I spoiler'ed out) Katherine announced she was unquitting, making her no longer eatable. In fact, she probably just self-recruited.
Unless I miss my bet Katherines's background, combined with whatever the hell Professor Pau is doing, is going to tie back in with a number of previous storylines involving nannies, especially the illegal kind. My guess is Pau is a UNS nannie researcher renegade, just like the dead Doc from whom the Toughs got their illegal boosts.
Sunday's are always major bigger strips. I have a feeling it will probably be Pau doing his grand monologue(Villains, for some reason, love to do that :? ) on tomorrows strip - we'll find out in 12 hours anyway. :D

Now here's the thing - the only way I see it that Katherine winds up off the menu, is if the Doc & co get to her before the homicidal Amorph does, which is a distinct possibility depending on A)where exactly they're headed, and B)how long Pau holds up the Sgt before Shep is rescued(If you look, I think that's him on the right in the center panel, going by the hair).

Of course, It may wind up where Doc has to be diverted to tend to Shep, thus leaving the Sgt to run loose, unsupervised..

Time to revive the thread.

Taking into consideration today's Schlock, where Prof Pau has made a grave error and Schlock is about to eat Pau's squad of muscle... has anyone read David Brin's Kiln People? Schlock has effectively unlimited memory capacity- how long until he does the queen bee thing? (he just needs enough mass...)

What's going to be fun is when the female security chief from Sunday's strip(who appears to be the only competent member of the other side) realizes just who(or more importantly, what) they're up against.

Frankly, I love these stories - you just know where the plot is going, but Howard invariably makes the catastrophe far worse than you expect.
