Hilarious! Obvious, once you read it--of course the reader injects his personal bias.....

I had to check to be sure the writer wasn't Larry Niven. (the reader injects his personal bias.....)

That's a good concept, with realistic dialog, and well plotted with a surprise ending.
Reminds me of Asimov's short story about the two astronauts who complain that all the machines sent to their space station require assembly, and the instructions are always faded, blurred photocopies with the instructions written by subliterate idiots.
Their complaining finally gets them the shipment of a robot with the instructions for assembly of dozens of machines in its electronic memory, but the robot itself requires assembly by them, and the instructions are faded, blurred photocopies with the instructions written by subliterate idiots.

So do I. I never really got in to his sci-fi but I LOVED his science essays. I have several collections of them, he had a way of making arcane topics readable without talking down to the reader.
