To Old Mexico, that is...A 47-year-old man's friends set his prosthetic leg on fire after he lost a drinking bet, causing him to suffer severe burns to his buttocks and lower back. Dona Ana County sheriff's deputies found the man naked on the side of U.S. Route 70 with his prosthetic leg in flames. Deputies learned that the man and his friends were drinking Monday and bet that whoever drank the least would be set on fire.
*Sigh* Wish I could say that this was
unusual around here...

The rest of the story is the cops asked why he let them set him on fire. The guy said, "I lost the bet didn't I?".

Yeah, and being a gringo myself, it does make me wonder what the
exact translation of "amigo"
actually is.
Perhaps I've been misinformed all these years...

Agreed! Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase, 'With friends like them...'

Well... a man's gotta keep his word, or he's not really a man. Doesn't make him less of a dips**t for making the bet in the first place, though...
