Just finished it , nicely done, maple syrup starts an inter galactic war. I really like Ringo's philosophy and each of his series seem to go in different direction , and still maintain that fundamental sense of freedom, and self sufficiency that his principle characters have.
I bought the hard cover , if any one wants it raise your hand and I will send you the book.

I liked it alot but I am a major Ringo fan. Plus I love books that center around bootstrapping your way to a viable space based industry so this was a good fit.

I just finished reading The Last Centurion, Honor of the Clan and Eye of the Storm. Ringo will be guest of honor at Ravencon 2011 next April. Hopefully I will spend less time running the con and actually be able to enjoy it.

I finally got my copy from my book club last week. By the time I got to about page 30, I was grinning from ear to ear. This is the type of SF that got me hooked so many years ago.
I'll reread it in a year or so and see if Ringo's brand of sarcasm still brings a smile.
Thoroughly recommended.

I literally just finished reading this, and the problem with Sci-Fi for me is that once I start one it nearly consumes all of my free time, in addition it drives me to stay up later than I would normally, especially with work looming in 6.5 hours. But John Ringo's work is definitely worth it, I'm tempted to pick up another from him but I have another huge stack of books to read.
I really feel that he could squeeze out another, one if not two, more books based in this concept - annnd scratch that, I just looked on amazon, it would appear as if there is a second book in the works:
http://www.amazon.com/Citadel-Troy-Risi ... 1439134006
In addition to that, after some more digging I came across his Myspace blog, which states:
Okay, the good news is I've been writing. However, not anything from any of the current universes. I finished the first book (Troy Rising) and I'm working on the next one (Citadel, AKA Troy, AKA Battle of Troy). 70k words so far. (I, by the way, started Feb 01 on the first book.) The series should include In Fire Born, Lacadaemon, Troy Forward and Troy Triumphant (possibly called The Hellenes). And if possible, I'm going to write all of them this year. Some of those might not get written. The meta-arc is solid but the details are bit unclear.
Which makes me, very, very excited. Amazon does not list a release date(that I can locate) but I'm very much looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

The Baen website (Ringo's publisher) says that Citidel will be released on Jan. 1st of next year. Far too long, but fortunently Baen has a good E-book program and you can buy books several months before they are released to bookstores. So if you don't mind readind off of a computer you can Citidel as early as October or November.
