Death of the History Channels credibilty.

I used to watch the History Channel all of the time for intelligent insight on historical fact.
I began to get worried when they started to branch outside of history, but not too much.
I grew more worried when reality TV and Monster Quest made their debute and a started to watch the channel far less.
Then they started climbing on the Global Warming bandwagon and began to abandon the channel all together.
I still watched the occasional program and they still had a few interesting shows but largely I had switched to Discovery.
It was not till today though that the History Channel has officially jumped the shark for me and probably drove me away for good and it is all thanks to the special '2100'. This program was puported to show probably senarios over the next century and was thinking that it could have been a take on "The Next 100 Years" which is an excellent book on geopolitics.
Instead it turned out to be a giant liberal wetdream that looked to have been written by the Obama Adminisration. The show fortold the disasters of the next century that would arise from the libs favorite catastrophes; Global Warming, Peak Oil, Sixth Extinction and Overpopulation all made an appearance. the experts backing up the conclusions included Van Jones and Robert Hanson. In the fictional narrative that provided structure to the program the bad guys included corporations and implied conservatives; the good guys were liberals, young radicals, New York, the UN and of course Obama.
Normally I would turn such crap off but this show was so over the top and so unintentionally funny I just couldn't. I am almost tempted to record the whole show just so I could post a line by line fisking on YouTube.
Naturally, Global Warming and its associated woes was the star of the show, its like the people who made this show have been in a coma for the last few years. They repeatedly brought up things that have been directly debunked in the last couple of years; Himalayan Glacial melting and Global warming born Hurricanes were both prominently featured
.
With this pile of crap, History Channel has finally lost me for good. They are full time drinkers of the liberal coolaid and I will no longer watch them.
