Saw him perform a number of times over the years. He was among the best.

I caught him when he was just making it on the national scene. He was part of a USO tour making a stop at Osan AB, Korea, before they went up close to the DMZ to give the army some showbiz love.
He was raw and unpolished, but very, very powerful even then, back in 62.
