Hmm. Tartan pants. What retired Irish-Americans wear when they visit the "auld country", because they watched Derby O'Gill and the little people too often.

Best avoided.

Sir, are you wearing anything under your kilt?

Madam, if you were a lady, you wouldn't ask, and if you're not a lady, you'll find out for yourself soon enough!

Properly known as trews. And yes, I consider them best avoided.

What is the Gun Counter's Tartan/Plaid? :?

You do realize that custom tartan cloth can be woven to order, don't you? A bunch of wags over at X Marks The Scot did a "R'yleh Sett"....which is now on its second run.

A Gun Counter palette...
Red, for fire (as in arms)
Blue, for blued steel
Green? Gold/Yellow?

If you can't pick a clan tartan, why not go with a state tartan?

Having no clue where the Irish or Scottish part of my family came from on my maternal grandmother's side, and with my maternal grandfather (a Polish/Ukranian mix) only being fostered by a Kirby, with my paternal grandmother being of German and Dutch heritage and my paternal grandfather being of German and English extraction, I can only say this:

Have the English figured out family tweeds yet? I need a good hunting coat to go with my leiderhosen.
Remember, folks, you can't spell "douche" without "Che."

You could always got with an Air Force tartan. My plan B if ever I got into a situation where a Kilt was required. (Plan A is to not get into such a situation in the first place).

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

Well, properly, lederhosen are only really worn by Bavarians and other Alp-dwelling German speakers.

Most of my Germanic ancestors were Prussians...anyone know where I can find a Pickelhaube?

Take one pith helmet (see CC) and attach a bayonet to it.

Nah, you still don't get it. It wouldn't annoy me, it would just convince me you were some variety of fool.

And THAT (someone self-identifying as a fool) troubles me not at all, for much the same reasons that it doesn't trouble me to be told that water is wet, or the sun rises in the east.
