Won't do anything - the gas engine only charges the batteries.
Not true, which is why the Prius starts getting worse mileage once you get close to freeway speed - 'cause the engine is doing double-duty, it's trying to charge the batteries AND assist in pushing the car. It's not like a diesel-electric train.
