Several years ago while the whole #Occupy Mom's Basement thing was going on J.T. Ready and his posse of clowns showed up in full battle rattle to counter protest. Phoenix PD watched them carefully but did not arrest them and eventually they left peacefully. However if you add nooses to this mix it magically becomes a crime because nooses are extra scary? They could have shown up in full SS regalia and been fine but it's the nooses we are worried about. This makes no sense to me.
Ity's kindasorta why waving Nazi flags in front of the holocaust museum is verboten. Certain things have come to symbolize hate, and exist to strike fear into a specific group of people. The fact that you acknowledge this, or fail to, is simply not relevant.
