Sure, but look at 'em. In person and next to each other.

Then ride'em.
Okay, are we talking about motorcycles or women in high heels here? Either way, I'm interested.

Well, I've been doing a lot of research and talking..

As of last Friday, my local Yamaha/Honda/Suzuki/everything else dealer has a new 2011 Yamaha V-Star 1300 Tourer left over from last year. $1800.00 off last years sticker price..

They open Tuesday and I'm 90% sure I'm going for it.. I'll give it more thought Monday before I buy..

This is it here.. Image

Shield is a little tall but I can cut it down later after I test it for a while..

Sorry Harley, but my budget does not allow you new or used..

Anybody have any complaints about this machine? Any advice?

That was the living breathing definition of "pipey." That 3 cylinder 2 stroke would simultaneously give you a lesson in uncontrolled acceleration and your mortality. But then that was good segue to/from my '73 Elsinore. Talk about all on or all off.

obtw, loved. loved. loved the mid/late 80's RM250. Spent a lot of time on 76-78's. Those were smooth as silk and easy roll-on power compared to the Elsinore (and my earlier GreenStreaks). Those Greenstreak with their rotary valves were like -- well the metaphors that come to mind are not fit for polite company but they involve shady women and unprotected intimate acts.
A little trip down memory lane. It does have a unique sound, being used to 125, 250, 500 dirtbikes.

This is the bike. Color same and everything. Listen to it on the last short pass he makes. You can hear it get on the pipe all of sudden. The tach would climb and then all of a sudden just spike.

What a great day today...

I signed papers for the V-Star so it's mine..

My ex-wife received papers from the Sheriff over custody.

My bartender gave me a small paper tab along with a free beverage and fresh paper napkin coaster. (ETA: Not that I spend my time in a bar but it did involve paper).

I also bought a pack of toilet paper today. Nothing else, no veggies or other items to disguise my TP purchase, just the paper.

More paper!

HAPPY RIDING!!!

I had a chicken run out in front of me a few days ago.. I've not seen a chicken cross the road in decades but this one time it had to do it while on the motorcycle.. Whats the chance?
