To veer back on topic, I just found this guide called Meet the Watchmen.
This has a basic outline of the world of the Watchmen along with profiles of the main characters and video interviews of the actors playing them. The site seems to be created specifically for those of us who would probably like the movie and characters but know nothing about the back story.
I was reading comics when The Watchmen was popular but I never read it. I didn't have a lot of money then, so I had to be picky about whether to follow another series.

A buddy of mine, who's an even bigger geek than I, am went to the sneak preview, and his review was much like Wheaton's. What changes there are, are necessary to condense it to a single movie and don't effect the plot.

The online comic PVP is riffing on Watchmen this week in a piece called Ombudsmen.

I met and talked to Wil Wheaton at a con last year. He seems nice enough, but two things stuck out. He's not as smart as he thinks he is, misusing "big" words (Steven Weber, call your office). And he was handing out Obama stickers. I got to use Tam's line on him, "No thanks, keep the change."Scott Free wrote:Actually, Mr. Wheaton is quite the liberal douchebag (redundancy alert!) based upon an interview that I saw of his on the G4 network a few years ago.Report this post Reply with quote
and dammit, i liked Wesley Crusher... i spent many nights imagining that i was the one kissing on Ashley Judd... course that was before she was a frakking douchebag...
He didn't seem to like that one. Heh.
