Saw it yesterday. Best movie I've seen in years. Go see it.

Never having seen Million Dollar Baby I can't comment on whether it is better. I never had a desire to see that movie for some reason.
Probably the soul crushing, have-to-see-it-to-believe-it depressing mood the movie carries bleeding through. It was a good movie, but I've never wanted to see it more than the one time I did. Since I don't have cable in pretty much any form, all I watch are the movies from my library over again. If folks like me aren't re-watching it...that's saying something.

I gave my short non spoiler review in the other thread before it was released. A great movie that easily runs right next to "Unforgiven" as Clint"s best work.

When folks are who they say they are and are that straight in their conversation , its very refreshing , this movie is an good bench mark of how far we have come , from plain talk to political correctness ( bull shit).
I also noticed that most of the audience were over 40.

Saw it this morning. BRAVO, Mr. Eastwood. Very well done.

And even the gun scenes were well executed. When Mr. Kowalski is pointing his 1911 at the three "spooks", the hammer is cocked back and the safety off. Contrast that to other movies where a 1911 is assumed to be DA and the hammer is down.

Saw it this afternoon, and I was the youngest patron in the theater. Almost all older couples. Some smoke must have gotten into the theater at the end, a lot of sniffling, mostly male. My eyes got a little watery.

At least the car finally got driven. I was beginning to wonder if it had an engine.

A must see movie. Clint deserves an Oscar for this one, maybe two (actor and director).

ETA: Was anyone else thinking about Eugene, fifty years hence? I was totally thinking about him, with his beloved M1, telling some punk kids, "Get off my lawn!"

'Course he might do that next week . . .

Damn, I can only say damn. That was a GOOD movie. My wife, smartass that she is, said after the first 20 minutes, "I wonder who he reminds me of." I think I'll go back to the theater tomorrow and tell them their air filters need cleaning, damn dust had my eyes watering by the end of the movie.

Good acting requires an imagination; reality requires a person not getting lost in their imagination.
