He wrote it as a deliberately "bad" book, with impossible to sell story and characters, just as an exercise in exORcising his id.
... and then people liked it and wanted to buy it.

He didn't call it the 'Wanker story' for nothing. Yes, he referred to it that way. Pretty sure he wrote it as something between a lark, and a 'let me get this shit out of my head' exercise.

My copy is signed "Seanan" not "Mira"CByrneIV wrote:Note, she writes the "feed" books under the pen name Mira Grant.NVGdude wrote:Best post-apocalyptic "we survived but so did they" novel is FEED by my friend Seanan McGuire.
I don't care for the zombie genre, but quite like her InCryptid and October Daye novels.

Note also that the zombies are not the protagonists, more of an environmental and setting factor. It's technically a political thriller.
And yeah, the Toby Daye books just keep getting better.

Nothing really, but you may find a search on the phrase "OH JOHN RINGO NO" entertaining.skb12172 wrote:I must have missed the memo. What's wrong with Ringo?

That's only one series. The "Troy Rising" and "Posleen" series don't have the icky bits, just endless and awesome mowing down of 2-dimensional bad guys.

If you like that sort of thing, you might actually enjoy Kratman's Posleen books more than Ringo's.Draven wrote:yeah he's started to flesh out the primary antagonists in both series quite a bit.
