Very common in model railroading circles. There are also a plastic compatible paint strippers out there, check a hobby shop.SoupOrMan wrote:Pine-Sol? So I can't even get rid of my painting jones by stripping the paint and re-doing the color schemes.

I've also heard Castrol Super Clean works well, too.

Decided to try Purple Power from Wal-Mart since it seemed to get some rave reviews for taking Testors enamel off of plastics. I have the painting bug again, or I will once I've got enough minis to re-prime.

What about the old standby of ATF to strip metal mini's? I dunno if they'll disolve or not..
And you bastards have me checking fleabay for "battletech lots"

Most of my minis are plastic so I have to avoid ATF for those. It looks like I'll need to keep them in the Purple Power bath for a while longer as the 20+ year old coat of Testors isn't just sliding off. It's brushing off easily in some places, not in others. I also have a bunch of old metal minis in there as well.HTRN wrote:What about the old standby of ATF to strip metal mini's? I dunno if they'll disolve or not..

It's funny, but the most entertaining unit for the game is decidedly noncanon..
And fuck Matt Ward and is hardon for the ultrasmurfs.

I always thought WH40K was an overly complex system. Poor game mechanics. Quite aside from their habit of making rule changes to force you to buy new overpriced miniatures.

Some of the spin off novels are fun. I never really got into the actual game play.

I guess I need to soak the living crap out of these minis. The plastics aren't being melted (good) but there's still a lot of trouble spots that won't brush off just yet. I also wish I had a small enough saw or scoop or something to remove the superglued limbs from the bodies.
