Don't they also have those shows about "How its Made" and the one about giant construction/engineering tasks ("Engineering Marvels" or some such) and a few other similar shows? I love seeing how they make stuff!

I don't even watch it for the weather - weather.com is available 24/7, takes 10 seconds to use, and is generally more accurate than those smiling idiots they get to play meteorologist.

And PBS is probably 95% of what little I watch these days - almost exclusively cooking shows or one of the TOS shows

I only watch the cooking shows(grew up surrounded by little old Italian ladies who could easily double for Lidia Bastianich), as even "this old house" has started in with the glueball wormening shtick lately.

Oh man, I can't stand her, she just rubs me the wrong way. If I want to watch an old lady cook - one of the local affiliates has been running reruns of Jack & Julia.

You forgetting who runs PBS? It's called "playing to the Network". I have seen some interesting things lately, like the ICF forms(I loved their method of sealing the gap between the forms and the rubble foundation - spray foam from a can!)

I can receive two affiliates right now(WNET and WNJN), but can't get the third (WLIW). I may have to crawl up in the attic and play with the Antenna - Thanks to Antennaweb, I know where all the stations are on a compass heading. I've even been thinking about replacing yhr existing antenna with a Winegard.

Do you get the Two Fat Ladies over there? Brilliant. Can only be topped by Keith Floyd.

Never seen that one, but then I am too lazy to adjust my satellite dish to get British TV.

It's a parody of cooking shows. They're all short(under 10 minute) clips, and I believe all eight of them are on Youtube.

I think I ended up watching about a day and a half worth of a "How the Earth Was Made" Marathon. I thought it was on National Geographic though.
