It's been said the Irish invented the bagpipes then gave them to the Scots.

The Scots still haven't got the joke. :-)

fwiw I love the pipes & grew up listening to Harry Lauder and hearing my Scot aunt & uncles talk story in increasingly thick brogues. You know what they say -- 5 Scots, 10 conversations.

Chris, for some reason that reminds me of a band called Steeleye Span. Ever hear of them?
