For those who liked Worldwar, there's a bit of fanfiction that may interesting to you "Worldwar: The balance destroyed"

The race try to invade Earth. Only it's not 1940s, but rather it's the 21st century.

It gets better.

It's Stargate Earth.

It gets better.

It's post SG1 Stargate Earth. You know, when They finally get their, and I quote, "Big honking Space guns".

It gets better.

It happens at the same time the Cylons, being chased by the Colonials, run to Earth, and then start a shooting war with, using Nukes, with the post Asgard Tauri...

Let's just say, the resulting confict, is "interesting times"

Reminds me of my idea for an ultimate military force:

Scouts/Deep Raiding: Mobile Infantry

Special Ops: The Dorsai

Light Infantry: Falkenberg's Legion AKA 42nd CoDo Marines

Light Armor: Hammers Slammers

Heavy Armor: Dinochrome Brigade.

A fella could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff. :ugeek:

I've never been able to view Mecha as a realistic weapon. To large to hide on the battle field and my gut feeling is they wouldn't be able to keep high velocity kinetic projectile from penetrating.
