Big cajones...

Post by D5CAV »

...or big pussies?

Business took me to the darkest heart of the PDRK - Los Angeles. An old acquaintance picks me up at LAX. He is Mexican, but nothing like the stereotype. He is light skinned, taller than me, and has only the slightest trace of a Spanish accent in his otherwise textbook English.

We are navigating the always crowded LA freeways, and I notice that about every 5th car is sporting a Mexican flag. I ask my friend if there is some other holiday commemorating another time the Mexicans defeated the French in September or October, since it is about six months till May.

My friend, who drives a non-descript late model Lexus with whatever non-descript wheels came standard with it, says no. It's a "macho" thing to show what big "cajones" they have.

I think about this for a moment and say, "They are showing me that they are big pussies. Nothing bad will happen if they display the Mexican flag in the PC US, especially in uber-PC California. Now, if they really want my respect, they would fly the US flag on their car the next time they visit Mexico City. Then I'd say they have big cajones."

That got a laugh out of my friend. Then he said, "Amigo, I don't think even the biggest narco-trafficante in Mexico has cajones like that!"

It's the same reason that liberals feel free to bitch about Christians, knowing that the Christians won't do anything about it. Not much bitching about Muslims, though, is there?

Or the reason the PETA crowd throws paint on women in fur coats, and not bikers in leather.

It's easy to be brave when it doesn't cost anything.

Case in point, Ben Affleck (the New Batman) is a moron and a coward.

As much as I dislike Bill Maher, I give him credit for opening criticizing Islam. He has taken several people "to the woodshed" when they tried to equate Christianity, Judeaism, Buddism, etc, with Islam.

Dennis Miller isn't the least bit shy about his opinion of Islam.

Lots of vato-driven cars to be seen around here. They're proud and want to show it off.

We don't get a lot of that here. Maybe because they still don't outnumber the Rebel flags? Hell, they don't even outnumber the NRA stickers!

Like I said, it's easy to be brave when it doesn't cost anything.

Don't know how this got on here twice, I was sober when I posted the first one. Mods, please delete. Thank you.

Well, occasionally people do try something like that. Mostly by mistake though, they think it's an easy target and find out they're wrong the hard way.
WHEN 35 Greenpeace protesters stormed the International Petroleum Exchange (IPE) yesterday they had planned the operation in great detail.

What they were not prepared for was the post-prandial aggression of oil traders who kicked and punched them back on to the pavement.

“We bit off more than we could chew. They were just Cockney barrow boy spivs. Total thugs,” one protester said, rubbing his bruised skull. “I’ve never seen anyone less amenable to listening to our point of view.”

Another said: “I took on a Texan Swat team at Esso last year and they were angels compared with this lot.” Behind him, on the balcony of the pub opposite the IPE, a bleary-eyed trader, pint in hand, yelled: “Sod off, Swampy.”

While the HA of Manhattan have largely lost their bite these days, back in the 80s, in the East Village, there was a sea of crime.. Except on 3rd street. You seriously did not fuck around there. While not nearly on the scale of chapters in Europe in terms of violence, they still had a reputation for violence - one chapter president threw his girlfriend off the roof of the clubhouse.
