Lou Reed RIP

Post by Darrell »

Walk On The Wild Side, Sweet Jane, and much more...
Lou Reed, whose band the Velvet Underground became one of the most influential in rock, underwent a liver transplant earlier this year.

NEW YORK — Lou Reed, the punk poet of rock n' roll who profoundly influenced generations of musicians as leader of the Velvet Underground and remained a vital solo performer for decades after, died Sunday age 71.

Reed died in Southampton, N.Y. of an ailment related to his recent liver transplant, according to his literary agent, Andrew Wylie, who added that Reed had been in frail health for months. Reed shared a home in Southampton with his wife and fellow musician, Laurie Anderson, whom he married in 2008.

And the detractors claim he published a racist song because of the line: "and the colored-girls go do, do do, do do to do, do to do to do do do to do, do to do, do to do do do doo too, do do do do, to to do do............." - and they are bitchin' about the words; "colored-girls". This is something the perpetually aggrieved complain about when they have nothing else to do and/or complain about - a couple of words in a song written close to 30 years ago and was NEVER meant to offend - YET these TURDS seem to find offense in EVERYTHING they see, read, or HEAR!!

Lou Reed is a MUCH greater artist than these assholes will EVER be, think of, or conceive!! They are simply worthless scum when compared to Lou.

It pisses me off when these little pukes take every opportunity to bitch about their "perceived" grievances.

May Lou Reed RIP - he's certainly earned it!!
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.

I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Still perhaps my favorite line all time from MST3K. The movie was a teen-gang thing with a young Mel Tormé.

Character (to girl): "Come down to the club tonight -- I'll sing a special song just for you!"

Crow: "Great! Do you know 'White Light, White Heat'?"
