On a long car drive, the wife and I talked about how to categorize superheroes. We determined a few categories.
Peak human: Batman, the old Blue Beetle, Punisher, Green Arrow, Deadshot, Vigilante
Meta human (anyone who was changed by an event): Spiderman, Firestorm (I love Firestorm), Hulk, Captain America
Mutant (born that way, even if it manifested later): Wolverine (actually a combo in my opinion), Killer Croc, Magneto, Cyclops, Deadpool
Tech: Iron Man, Green Lanterns, excluding Alan Scott, Cyborg, Steel, Stargirl
Alien: Superman, Martian Manhunter, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, the New Gods (another combo/multi combo)
Magical/Spiritual (including lesser/old gods): Dr. Fate, the Spectre, Hawk/Dove, Captain Marvel, Ares, Thor, Blue Devil
end nerdgasm.
