I'm beginning to think that our reading lists may be pretty similar.
I liked this one more than I expected. It departs from general Military SF in enough aspects that it manages to stay pretty interesting and does not have the class warfare, neo-socialist polemic that I originally expected. It had characters that are interesting and a rather unique storyline and setting. When a sequel comes out I will probably buy it.
