+1 to most of the points above. As for the talk the the SEAL's do not show enough emotion... I have a feeling that is how thos guys actually are rather than a lack of acting skills.

Gee, you mean they're kinda' like ENGINEERS????? So it's okay to be emotionless engineers and the women just complain and tell their stories of stoic husbands but yet they expect heavily trained, hard-core/corps warriors to NOT display the same kind of emotional control and/or restraint???? WTF???staylor wrote:+1 to most of the points above. As for the talk the the SEAL's do not show enough emotion... What a bunch of IDIOT reviewers! Remember, it's all about ME, ME, ME, ME, ME and how *I* feel, 'cause that's what I've been taught. "People GIVE us self-esteem through positive affirmations regardless of what a mess we've made." Welcome to Obama-Land! <SNARK>

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

Re: Act of Valor
Just saw through BigHollywood that Act of Valor made 24.7 million Friday and Saturday alone. If it plays out the same today, the movie will make 36 million for the weekend. Not bad for a pro-American, pro-military, in your face liberals movie. Story here.

Good acting requires an imagination; reality requires a person not getting lost in their imagination.

Household 6 and I just got back from seeing it. I say the operators in this movie are Shakespearean thespians when you compare them to Affleck, Clooney, Damon, and most of the ilk in Hollyweird.
I liked the Texas double tap used on the head jihadist at the end of the fight.
We had heavy winds today so the New Mexico dust invaded. I really can't understand how all that dust got into the theater though. Right at the end of the movie too.

Re: Act of Valor
I read a study by a psychologist somewhere about the make-up of SEALs. The author wrote that SEALs share nearly no psychological attributes - save for one: nearly universally, they lack the stress reactions most people have. Apparently, they're pretty difficult to make excited.
And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

Re: Act of Valor
I saw it twice, I really enjoyed it. I'm not familiar with how SpecOps Forces do things but from my limited experience it seemed very realistic.

I saw it.
It was really, really good.
Now it only Hollyweird would do more things like that instead of fucking sparkly vampires.

Re: Act of Valor
Just watched it out of a redbox and really enjoyed it!
Made me feel like my own service contribution was next to nothing though.
Not ashamed to admit I cried.
